The Mysore Palace is a highly architectural and historical palace and the royal residence at Mysore in the Indian State of Karnataka. It is the official residence of the Yadav Wadiyar dynasty and the seat of the Kingdom of Mysore. The palace is in the heart of Mysore. It faces the Chamundi Hills eastward and occupies 72 acres of land in total.

The palace is built using fine grey granite and features beautiful domes that are made of deep pink coloured marbles. The central arch of the seven broad arches in the façade features an impressive idol of Gajalakshmi (the Goddess of prosperity, wealth and luck with her elephants) on its top.

The historic document says that the Mysore Palace was hit by a lightning and a new palace was reconstructed by the ruling king Ranadheera Kantheerava Narasaraja Wodeyar in the year 1638. A century later power shifted to Hyder Ali and his famous son Tippu Sulthan.
